Election and Installation of Officers
Brick Walls and Open Discussion
We urgently need you all to join us for our Annual Hybrid General Membership Meeting via Zoom and in person. The meeting objective is to elect and install our officers.
At this time we urgently need a new Treasurer. We also need a Membership chair and a Webmaster Assistant. To date no members have stepped up for any of these positions.
In order for the society to function within established rules and procedures, at the meeting we need to nominate and elect a: Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Board Member at large. We have a Vice-President and a Secretary to be elected. No Treasurer = No election=No SDJGS.
If you would like to step forward and help fill these voids before the meeting, send a message here. The meeting floor will also be open for real-time nominations.
Being part of our society means more than just genealogy – it’s about the joy of collaborating with like-minded enthusiasts. SDJGS is managed and operated entirely by volunteers; our dedicated volunteers are the lifeblood of our society. Our present board and committee members have been serving for many years in the same positions, and to be frank we need new blood. The hard truth is time does not stand still, and we are fast approaching decision dates for the future of SDJGS. If we don’t find members willing to make personal commitments to serve on the board, this meeting could be the last meeting for SDJGS. We cannot continue to operate without a Treasurer.
