Presentation by Harold Fisher

Harold Fisher, manager of our Profile Form and Surname Project will be giving a slide presentation on surnames and how our online Profile Form works.  The presentation will include information on when “surnames” were required in Europe and the Russian Empire, how surnames were selected, chosen, or given, as well as what several surnames mean.  The discussion will provide details on how you can use our online profile form to see if you share family surnames, ancestral towns, or shtetls with other members of our society.

Please join us via a zoom presentation. Free for members and non-members. Membership includes the ability to add names to our Surnames Database.  Members are encouraged to add their names to assure the robustness of the database.
